Welcome to the web page of
the Deanship for Academic Affairs of the University of Puerto
Rico Medical Sciences Campus. We invite you to become familiar
with our many units and programs, and celebrate with us our
30th Anniversary. Since its creation
in 1976, the Deanship has been instrumental in the offering
of quality educational programs on campus through its many
academic support services and initiatives. True to the three
components of the Medical Sciences Campus mission - teaching,
research, and service – the Deanship offers numerous
support services to faculty and students. These include curriculum
development assistance, library services, assistance in accreditation
processes, and information technology initiatives of benefit
to the campus.
The Deanship for Academic Affairs has also
provided an auspicious ground for research projects on campus,
particularly those that involve more than one school or cut
across disciplines. These include infrastructure development
programs, as well as behavioral and clinical research.
Service is also in our Deanship’s
mandate, both to the academic community and the external community.
Key among our services is the offering of continuing education
to practicing health professionals and services to the community
by two unique, specialized women’s health and bioethics
centers.
