ABBREVIATED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Dr. Margarita Irizarry has taught
Biology, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at the undergraduate and
graduate levels. Presently she teaches at the graduate level in the
Clinical Laboratory Science Program and in the Post Doctoral Master in
Clinical Research Program.
She also teaches third year Medical
Students a lecture on the Introduction to Medical Ethics: Constraints
and Consequences.
Dr. Irizarry has been Science
Department Chair and Associate Dean for Science. She has received
grants from the National Science Foundation and the Department of
Education to create programs to increase the number of minority
students entering graduate school to pursue careers in Science,
Mathematics and Engineering. Presently she has grants to study
Molecular Biology and Protein Biology of Prostate cancer and leukemia
